Rare ''Bruxelles Expo'' Highboard by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform 1958

A magnificent piece of design history, this vintage cabinet / highboard is designed by the famous Belgium designer: Alfred Hendrickx for Belform. However this is a special one of a kind edition for the ''1958 World Expo in Bruxelles''. For the world expo Alfred Hendrickx worked together with ceramic artist: Jaak van de Vijver from the famous ceramic studio ''Perignem'' to create this wonderfull cabinet. The special ceramic art doors look amazing. The unique tile art is made on 28 separate tiles, 14 tiles per door and each door is signed '' V.D.V 58’’. They have a wonderfull abstract design with blue, white, black and yellow accents which blend in perfectly with the ebonized and bubinga wood of the cabinet. Both Alfred Hendrickx & Perignem used this cabinet to impress the crowd at the expo. Apart from the looks this cabinet is also very functional offering multiple adjustable shelves, drawers, a bar and display cabinet. A very rare and unique piece of vintage design furniture.
